About Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light (laser) to remove unwanted hair.

During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the entire hair bulb and follicle. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth.

Laser hair removal is used to reduce unwanted hair. Common treatment locations include the legs, underarms, upper lip, chin, back, chest, and bikini line. However, it is possible to treat unwanted hair in nearly any area except the eyelid or surrounding skin. Skin with tattoos cannot be treated.

How much time in between treatments?
4-6 weeks

Pre-Care Tips:

Client should be clean shaven prior to treatment.

No skin creams on treatment area.

No makeup on treatment area.

No plucking, waxing, or depilatories (hair removal creams).

Post-Care Tips:

No direct sun exposure for one week.

SPF 50 sunscreen for two weeks.

Tolerability:

Possible breif discomfort, similar to warm tingling.

Temporary Effects:

Skin redness, follicular edema, and mild sunburn sensation usually disappear in a few hours.
